A martial arts teacher called Kevin Gurganus helps students with autism learn karate in North Carolina. He even has a son named Zachary who has Asperger's Syndrome. It is very helpful for his special needs students. One student with Asperger's Syndrome named Joe used to get picked on at school for being different. No one bothers him anymore.
When I was a kid, I wanted to learn karate, but my parents were against it. I can't remember what their reasons were for that. I was picked on a lot while going to school during those years. It was a painful experience. The emotional abuse damaged me badly and I am still healing from those scars.
