The Asperger Association of New England's executive director, Dania Jekel, is quoted in an article about disclosure called "Your Child with Special Needs: Sharing your private issue with others." Dania advises that the child should mention that s/he has difficulty with social ability. Building relationships with the child's peers lessens the onset of bullying and teasing.
