Cowabunga, Dude! The first annual surfing camp for children with autism and Asperger's Syndrome starts on March 31. A very exciting alternative to Spring Break. The University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UM-NSU CARD) are co-hosting this event. The two groups provides educational and psychological services to 4,000 individuals with autism in the Miami-Dade county area.
At the surfing camp, the attendees get experience in surfing, snorkeling, exploring marine life, and studying basic oceanography and meteorology.
