Professor Jane Treasure wrote in her article "Is Anorexia The Female Asperger's?" in The Times Online that in her studies people with eating disorders find it difficult to change self-set rules and learned behavior once fixed in the brain. She describes that cognitive processing problem as a similar link to autism spectrum disorder.
It sounds interesting that Professor Treasure believes that anorexics have difficulty with change and problem solving. She claims that anorexics show rigid thinking like a person with autism/Asperger's. She even believes that anorexia is genetic.
