Last night, Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman was seriously injured in a car accident in the Mississippi Delta. The car he was driving had flipped several times and landed in an upright position in a ditch. He was taken to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, along with a woman who was in the car with him. He was conscious and joking when he was taken out of the car after the rescuers used the jaws of life to free him. Bystanders were taking pictures of the whole crash scene.
Freeman suffered a broken arm, broken elbow, and minor shoulder damage. He is in good spirits. The condition of his companion is unknown.
The 71-year old actor won an Oscar for Million Dollar Baby and is currently starring in The Dark Knight which is in the theatres.
I just saw The Dark Knight last night and enjoyed Morgan's performance as Lucius Fox, Bruce Wayne's right hand man at the Wayne Foundation.
