Happy Birthday,
John Lennon!
A very much missed Beatle, and Happy Birthday to Sean Lennon too!
Even Presidents can sing John's song too! (Just barely)
Here are The Beatles with a little help from ELO's Jeff Lynne

I think every boomer, and those born at the first few years of the X gen probably remember what they were doing or were they were when they heard the news. I was watching the 11P news. It was more than half over, and I went to pay a visit to the bathroom. As I was finishing u what I was doing there, I heard the announcer say as they were signing off that they had an unconfirmed report that John Lennon had been shot and rushed into a hospital in NY. I flipped over the TV dial (remember dials) and the radio dial trying to get the news, and sure enough, shortly there was confirmation that it was indeed him and he was pronounced dead.
I was shocked and horrified and felt a loss. I felt for his family, as I would for in such a case for anyone who was murdered like this. I felt for us all, because we had a great artists taken from us too young and to soon. But I didn't really feel the personal sense of loss that so many of my generation felt. I loved the Beatles collectively, but their individual stuff never really moved me as they for me as a band. George Harrison touched me more than John Lennon. I loved some of his early solo stuff. Working Class Hero really moved me, even though one word was bleeped out by most stations. It's a class struggle type song, and I identified with it being from a family that was both blue-collor and extremely dysfunctional. I wonder also, if it spoke to the Asperger in me (which of course I didn't know I even had. Here'a a link to the lyrics: http://www.workingclasshero.com/Lyrics/tabid/76/ctl/Details/mid/394/ItemID/4/Default.aspx
