Is BMA DOA?

This recent article about the 19th annual Boston Music Awards described the awards show as a snooze-fest.  Shred, one of my fellow Emerson alumni and a staffer at WBCN, is mentioned that same article.  The whole overall tone of last week's event was no respect.  A lot of the winners didn't even show up for the award.  Even one band member sent someone else out to pick up her award.

How odd!  Is the awards show dead on arrival?
