According to a recent study, fathers over the age of 40 are almost six times more likely to father an autistic child than younger fathers.
When I read this, I wondered if this were true. When I was born, my father was 40 years old. His birthday is in November. He was only 40 for a month before I was born.
While I was growing up, some of the kids I was going to school with were shocked when I told them how old my father is. It's pretty commonplace now to have an older father in the 21st Century.
