Genetic Defect in 1% of Autism Cases

Researchers have found in 1 per cent of autism cases found a genetic defect.  It might lead to identifying the condition early in children.  The Autism Consortium in Boston found deletions or duplications in chromosome 16 among 24 of the 2,252 people from autism families.

I heard Dr. Malika Marshall talk about this story on the Channel 4 news in Boston.
