A great article by a grandmother named Shirley Caudill states that early intervention makes a child with autism thrive on his/her strengths. Her story, "Fast-spreading Autism Steals Children Away," tells about Benjamin, her grandson, and what his parents did to help him with behavior adjustment by homeschooling him.
The early intervention minimized the meltdowns and other problems. I wish I had something like that when I was young.
Great story, Shirley. Thanks for your input!
