Arts from the Heart, a local art collaborative, is hosting an event at the Middleborough Public Library called "Dancing Through Fog: Living Under the Specters of Mental Disorder and Mental Illness." The January 26th event is for artists or their family members who struggle with mental illness or condition. It runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited to come to an open mike session at the beginning of the program to bring poems, music, brief stories, and monologues.
Christopher Wood Robbins of Whitman, Massachusetts, who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome last April is coordinating the event with Louise Dery-Wells, a local psychotherapist who is also a good poet. Robbins wanted to do this event to raise awareness of mental disorders and illnesses.
